After the war, anti-colonial anti-British sentiments were seen throughout the country when anti-British reactions were observed in different places.

Among the minor revolts that took place between 1915 and 1917, the revolt of February 1915, known as the Gadar revolt, was the most organized and expanded. This revolt was consistent with the support of Indian nationalists, Russian socialists, America and Germany, but it was possible to suppress by the British intelligence.

The impact of the World War on a large number of casualties, the unrestricted economic pressure caused by tax increases, the spread of inflation, global epidemic, and unlimited loss of business commerce, exclude all social and political issues, including the economy of India, with outstanding imbalance.

During the war, many Indian soldiers came to India with weapons smuggled from the battlefield. The Indian nationalist attitude that was seen before the war was revived after the extremist and modern groups of Congress united.

After the rebellion of 1857, the British always believed in another rebellion. Although the investigators of the events of Amritsar did not find any such conspiracy, but General Dyer believed that if the natives were beaten properly, their desire for independence would be lost. The 1915 revolt attempt and the plan of Lahore were still haunted out the British. During that time the Bolshevik movement of Russia also increases the fear of the British regime.

On April 13, many people gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh Park in Amritsar on the Baishakhi festival. 1 hour after the start of the meeting, 65 Gorkha and 25 Baloch soldiers led by General Dyer of Amritsar military commander entered the meeting place at 5.30pm. 50 of them had Lee Enfield 303 guns. The anti-British movement spread like wildfire all over the country, under the pressure of the people, an investigation committee was formed by the British government. At the end of the investigation it was announced that only 379 people were killed and 1,100 wounded During the horrendous incident.
